Taken is about Bryan a ex-CIA preventer who is fast losing his relationship with his teenage daughter. She wants to go to Paris with some friends, but he doesn't want her to go. Walt doesn't care for ethinic groups and they are filling up the town that he lives in but he refuses to move, so when a asian family movies next door he is not thrilled. Especially when he catches the teenage boy trying to still his 1972 Grand Torino. Block buster action from the about the first 15 minutes into the movie to the very end. In light of all the great 80's action heros trying to go for the one last movie in their great series movies I wasn't sure if they could pull off another one. I was not at all disappointed with Bruce Willis's performance at all, he proved that he still has what it takes to take you to the very edge of your seat with unbelievable stunts and cunning humor. |

I have never seen the broadway production of this film, but I did see the 1980's version with Ricki Lake and love it, so I was a little skeptical at first of this musical. I thought it would be fun to see John Travolta in drag and I was not disappointed at all, this was a great movie. It was fun, clean, and well just plain fun. |

A very heart-warming movie about a man who has adopted his neighbor as sort of a surrogate mother. When he finds out she is dieing he wants to make her wish come true, that her daughter would get married. So he sets out to marry her daughter so she can plan the grand wedding. It had one of those sad great endings that makes me cry every time! |

For a film seen by movie critics and a thumbs down, it has become a hollywood icon that has had its ten year and twenty year anniversary spent on the big screen (Only one other movie I know that has done that and its Grease) So what made America fall in love with Dirty Dancing? I believe it was great music, great dancing and Patrick Swazye. Women took notice of Patrick Swazye when came walking across the room with his leather jacket thrown over his shoulder. Whoopi Goldburg at her best!ITo me its one of the great Comedies of the 80's. It's one of those movies that you can just watch over and over and never get tired of it. I using it for background noise at my home, I can almost quote it word for word. Its a quirky, spunky, laughable movie, and who can't like Whoopi!! |

There is something about 80's movies that are just plain nostagic, but maybe that is because I grew up in the 80's. I loved Murphy's Romance because it was a light hearted romantic comedy about a older widow (James Gardner) who is about 30yrs her senior and a divorced mother (Sally Field)with a teen aged son. Gardner and Field just fit this movie so well, that is easy to just watch this movie over and over. Even with the age difference the was a definate chemistry and mature humor that just made you smile while you watched it. |

Dick Van Dyke at his best! Though my favorite of his is still Mary Poppins, I really love this movie. Its about a inventor with two young children and he has not yet made a invention that would sell. He has a great imagination. He buys Chitty (a car) for his children, then mets Truly Scrumptious, a nice young lady, he tales a tale that leads the the great adventures of excaping the bad Baron and seeing the wonders of the great Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car. Its a great musicals that the whole family can love. |

Wait Until Dark was a good thriller for those who love the classics. Audrey Hepburn did a wonderful job of a blind woman who matches wits with a couple men who are after a doll that is supose to be in her house. Richard Crenna and Alan Arkin are great bad men who are both as different as night and day on how they choose to deal with the blind lady. For 1967 it was a great thriller, it is great that movies have advanced in techology since back then, but sometimes it is just nice to watch a clean thriller and not have to worry about seeing something inappropriate . |

This is my favorite musical staring Gene Kelly about the move from silent pictures to talking pictures. Gene Kelly Plays Don Lockhart who is a hearttrob of silent pictures, so they think he will be okay in a talking picture but his leading lady has a squeaky voice, so they use another lady to play do her voice and sing for her (Debbie Reynolds), who Don falls for. |
