The first thing that came to my mind when watching Beguiled is that being around all that young, southern, estrogen laden drama is bound to be more dangerous to a Yankee soldier than most battlefields. I was not wrong. Unfortunately and despite the fact that the story was quite compelling, the m…

Good old fashioned US-Russia cold war espionage with an updated twist. I loved the storyline but the implementation was a bit dreary at times, despite having Jennifer Lawrence to look at the whole time. |

I loved the human-interest slant on this tale of the Civil War. Jude Law’s undying love for Kidman draws him back to her despite the risk of being a deserter towards the end of the war. The story is engaging, and the cast is top notch. Zellweger is not quite believable as a hardened southern gal… |

What a fun movie! I stayed away for a long time because I didn’t want to see all the violence, but … now that I’ve seen it, wow am I glad I did. The cast is stellar, the storyline is obviously great, and I just really had a good time watching this movie. Don’t show the kids though! |

Best cast ever. Best men on a mission war movie ever. |

Silence of the Lambs set the standard for the psychological crime thriller. As Hanibal, Anthony Hopkins does ‘evil’ like nobody else, and if that wasn’t enough, Jodie Foster and her law enforcement brood need to find and deal with Hanibal’s sick protege. This movie deserved all of the Oscars that… |

Looking for a real vampire movie? Baroque, bloody, bawdy, not to mention strict with the rules, Interview with the Vampire fits the bill. Indeed, Anne Rice’s celebrated novel led to a quintessential vampire movie: star powered, obsessively detailed and expansively imagined. Even mature movie…
