  1. Quality
  2. OK 2.5

A low budget indie comedy involving 11 people who are in a suburban L.A. park. The storylines all take place mostly in parked vehicles, where the characters wade through infidelity, nudism, homosexuality, and have sex.

Boasting a cast of actors who could easily appear on the next TV reality show, including Riki Lake, Cheri Oteri, Melanie Lynskey and William Baldwin, the movie weaves through the stories as each car boasts of its own particular issue. It’s attempts to be cleverly humorous are only moderately successful. The storylines are intriguing, but became tiresome in some cases. I found myself wishing we could go back to a different car when I became bored with the action in a particular vehicle.

The film was made on a low budget, and at times it has that feel to it. Yet, it also had an odd attraction to it, drawing you into to some of the characters. It lacks the crisp dialogue of better movies, but still manages to hold your attention. I have to give creative props to the director for being able to film it all inside the vehicles without becoming too claustrophobic.

Overall, it was tolerable, with moments of humor.

    Watched on Netflix streaming.

  3. OK 2.5

William Baldwin is pretty good as a sleazy lawyer cheating on his wife. Melanie Lynskey (“Rose” from 2 & 1/2 Men) shows talent in her role.

Realtive unknown David Fenner was atrocious in his role of an awkward dog groomer. There’s a reason why he’s a realtively unknown actor.

  4. Male Stars OK 2.5
  5. Female Stars OK 2.5
  6. Female Costars OK 2.5
  7. Male Costars OK 2.5
  8. OK 2.5

Director Kurt Voelker does ok with the limited resources he has. The movie seems filmed in spots using a red-tinted lens, which really accentuated the California midday heat.

  9. Direction Barely OK 2.0
  10. Play OK 2.5
  11. Music OK 2.5
  12. Visuals OK 2.5
