Perfect 5.0
An outstanding piece of cinematic work that truly captures one man’s struggle to overcome a debilitating speech problem during a time when his nation needed him the most. While the primary focal point is his speech, we are also given a glimpse into a pivitol point in political history, where a sitting monarch is forced to abdicate the crown, and the world sinks into World War II.

Really Great 4.5
Exceptional job done by the lead actor, Colin Firth, who truly convinces the viewer that he suffers from a speech problem. His ability to portray a remarkable range of emotions is commendable, as his character struggles to overcome his challenges.

Really Great 4.5
Locations used for the film were obviously carefully selected to give the most accurate feeling possible. The additional use of constrained spaces (cramped roms, narrow halls), combined with an occasional use of “fisheye” lenses also helped enhance the subliminal feeling of feeling trapped, much as the protagonist does with his speech problem in the film.
