  1. Quality
  2. OK 2.5

Interesting enough, and each event involves a fascinating scientific explanation instead of the world blowing up for some unknown reason. Still, nothing to boast.

  3. OK 2.5

More yelling than acting, but some touching moments as families huddle together in their final hours.

  4. Male Stars Good 3.0
  5. Female Stars OK 2.5
  6. Female Costars OK 2.5
  7. Male Costars OK 2.5
  8. OK 2.5

Outstanding special effects and CGI animation, but the film relies a lot, if not too much on this factor. Great eye candy, but not enough to form a good film.

  9. Direction Good 3.0
  10. Play Awful 0.0
  11. Music Very Good 3.5
  12. Visuals Perfect 5.0
  13. Content
  14. Risqué 2.5
  15. Sex Innocent 1.5
  16. Violence Brutal 3.5

Harrowing, but somehow bloodless disaster violence throughout.

  17. Rudeness Salty 2.5

Several f-words and other language in the context of stress. Some selfish behavior.

  18. Supernatural 3.2
  19. Circumstantial Glib 1.5
  20. Biological Supernatural 3.5

Many people in this film would be dead within the first half-hour of this film, but somehow they survive.

  21. Physical Fantasy 4.5

The narrow escapes from ash clouds and huge cracks in the ground are almost laughable. How many buildings can you crash into before the car finally breaks?

Regarding loisamorton’s Review
Great review. I was wowed enough by the trailer to want to see 2012 but haven’t managed to do so yet. Still, your take seems spot on.

I especially like how you dissected the Reality liberties. Nailed it.
