Machinist Trevor Reznik (Christian Bale) hasn't slept in a year and is as skinny as Mary-Kate Olsen on a good day. He also lives his life in a robotic manner, doing the same thing each day. However, that changes when Trevor's world starts coming down on him. Apparently, Trevor is becoming more paranoid by the day, seeing things and people no one else sees. Is someone targeting him? On a way home from a hockey game, Nick Hume (Kevin Bacon) and his eldest son Brendan (Stuart Lafferty) meet the Darley gang led by Billy Darley (Garrett Hedlund) when they stop at a gas station.
