This emotional look at the tragic events outside Oslo brings up many difficult subjects. Mass murder, extremism, socio-cultural dealings with all of it and a unique and unforgettable glimpse in to the hearts of the Norwegian people. Not to be missed.

21 Grams
Barely OK 22 Points 2003

Ok, I must admit up front – 21 Grams could not keep me awake at the end of a long and tiring day. While I was alert, I experienced a very confusing story with some darned good dramatic acting about people who are brought together under tragic circumstances. So, what can I say? If you appreciate …

Modestly entertaining, this fictionalized depiction of the real life collegiate geeks who card count their way to blackjack millions fails to establish more than a smidgen of dread, drama or depravity. It’s like drawing an 11 against an ace: Excitement dims pretty quickly when a quality set-up e…

Great 83 Points 2016

The 2012 Islamist militia attack on the two U.S. outposts in Benghazi Libya comes alive as a colossal and utterly predictable central-government failure in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. Truth!

The amazing thing is that only four men died, even if one was Ambassador Chris Stevens…

Solomon Northup has just become an iconic American hero, some fifteen and a half decades after he lived. Americans from this day forth will know his name like they know Patrick Henry’s or Harriet Tubman’s.

That’s not all. The mov…
