  1. Quality
  2. Very Good 3.5

This film will mess with your head. be sure to bring a bottle of Aspirin some booze and a mallet to knock some sense back into yourself after you watch it. I was so confused as to what was reality or what was “the movie” being written inside this movie. I’d say Anthony Hopkins did a stand up job with this flick. mind you his plate was full with at least 4 other credits in this film.

  3. Good 3.0

of course as usual Anthony Hopkins was good. that was expected. the one surprise I got from this though was Christian Slater. some how he has tapped into the Christian Slater from 10 years ago and is fantastic! his character was very reminiscent of Jack Nicholson as well. when you watch it you will see what i mean.

  4. Male Stars Good 3.0

ok so here is the list. I’m not going to do a Co-stars section for this film since it seemed to me that they all played an equal part. we have writer/director/actor Anthony Hopkins, Michael Clarke Duncan, Christopher Lawford, Christian Slater, Jeffrey Tambor, and John Turturro. every one of these roles seemed to fit the actors well. other then Christian Slater and Anthony Hopkins there really wasn’t a stand out performance from them all. they seemed to play out really well and i applaud the casting director.

  5. Female Stars Good 3.0

Lana Antonova, Lisa Pepper, Fionnula Flanagan, Camryn Manheim, and Jennifer Mann all did equally good. there could have been some better casting I feel in this though. With the pull and buzz of this being Ant Hop’s directorial debut they should have got some more faces we would recognize. so remeber what i said to the casting director earlier? well I retract 50% of my kudoz he now only has a Kud.

  6. Female Costars Good 3.0
  7. Male Costars Good 3.0
  8. Very Good 3.5

this film looks like a perfect example of something that would drive a studio mad! with so much post-production work that had to be done with this who knows how this could have turned out. at least thats what the studio heads most likely thought while going through with this flick. this could explain the lack of advertizements and marketing for it. this seemed like a gamble to deal with but i think the overall product speaks for itself. it one long ad for Bayer asprin.

  9. Direction Good 3.0

I really hope Anthony Hopkins got what he was looking for in the creative process of this film because it seems to me this is jumbled and was hard to convey how it was to turn out. I cant even imagine what a nightmare the screenplay was because of all the jump scenes between “reality” and " imagination" overall though i think he did a good job of directing this as i wasn’t as confused at the end of it as i was at the start of it.

  10. Play Perfect 5.0

the one stand out thing in this film is the dialogue was fantastic. Christian slater wins the award from me though for his speech’s in the roadside cafe!

  11. Music Very Good 3.5

allot of the music was composed by Anthony Hopkins as this film was his baby. he did a stand up job doing it as well. as soon as the credits rolled and i saw his name tied in with the music i was impressed. what else can this old man do!

  12. Visuals OK 2.5

my eyes hurt. i think they went a little overboard with some of the transitions but man were they random. they seemed to fit the film well though.

  13. Content
  14. Tame 1.5

nothing bad in this film aside an occasional gun shooting. they seemed to stay away from the graphic shots in this.

  15. Sex Innocent 1.5

innocent as a kitten with a slight balance issue. ( haha )

  16. Violence Gentle 1.5
  17. Rudeness Polite 1.5
  18. Surreal 3.0

this is a perfect look into the mind of an aging man.

  19. Circumstantial Surreal 3.0
  20. Biological Surreal 3.0
  21. Physical Surreal 3.0
