  1. Quality
  2. Really Great 4.5

While I’m not a fan of violent movies, this ’94 Tarantino flick certainly made me forget my dislike of violent films.

  3. Perfect 5.0

There were a few times throughout the movie when I thought, “Wow, cheesy acting;” however, thinking back over the movie I’ve decided the cheese was used on purpose to add to the effect of the movie.

  4. Male Stars Perfect 5.0

Woody Harrelson plays the part of evil Mickey to perfection: he fills out the sleeveless prison shirt, wears a shaved head evilly, and delivers his lines as though they were his own.

  5. Female Stars Perfect 5.0
  6. Female Costars Perfect 5.0
  7. Male Costars Perfect 5.0

Tom Sizemore and Tommy Lee Jones, two of the male co-stars play out their parts so well. It was great to see TLJ in a role other than Men In Black (hope I didn’t just give away my age haha)

  8. Perfect 5.0
  9. Direction Perfect 5.0
  10. Play Perfect 5.0

It takes a demented person to write a script as believably psychotic as this!

  11. Music Perfect 5.0

As with all Tarantino films, a great soundtrack made up of obscure music that succeeded in raising the movie from one level to a higher level.

  12. Visuals Perfect 5.0

A really cool use of imagery to move the viewer from being outside the movie watching to being inside the characters’ brains viewing the world. Interesting blend of projection, animation, and filming to concoct this visual potion.

  13. Content
  14. Horrid 4.3

Keep the kids FAR away from this film. Keep the troubled teens even further from it.

  15. Sex Erotic 3.0
  16. Violence Monstrous 5.0

Whoa. Wow. Za. Not overly gory or graphic, but done in an artistic, often abstract, way.

  17. Rudeness Vile 5.0

    Course language consistent throughout.

  18. Glib 1.5

For my own sanity, I have to believe that there aren’t many people out there who think like this movie’s main characters, much less act upon their urges in the same way. Thus, I have given the movie a total rFactor of 2.5, indicating that I find the circumstantial aspect to be a little askew.

  19. Circumstantial Surreal 2.4
  20. Biological Natural 1.0
  21. Physical Natural 1.0
