   Very Good 3.5

   Light-hearted fun dominates this feel-good date movie, where a husband and wife are mistaken for criminal ring leaders.

   Phil and Clair (Steve Carell and Tina Foster) are you typical suburban parents, stuck in a grind after doing the same thing everyday for years. In an effort to spice things up, they go to an exotic restaurant for “date night” where they are mistaken for criminals. A series of events propels them into further chaos as they try and clear their name, while trying to fix their marriage.

   While the movie won’t ever be considered high-brow cinema, it does offer a healthy dose of comic relief, allowing the viewer to associate with the main characters and laugh at the feeble attempts to survive in the underworld. The comedic talents of Fey and Carell are at their peak, playing off each other in a wonderful barrage of patter that many who have been in long term relationships can relate to.

   Nice, relaxing movie to take your mind off problems, and escape into the world of cinematic fantasy.

   Steve Carell tones down his antics and becomes his likable, goofy self.

   Tina Fey continues to show her considerable talent, playing the sweet, yet goofy wife.

   Mark Wahlberg has a great role as the perfect looking friend. Making Carell squirm even more as his wife ogles him.
