   OK 2.5

   Unfortunately, the conclusion to my favorite horror franchise of all time was disappointing. There are a few redeeming qualities that make me give this a 2.5 rather than a 1. It really makes me sad to think there will be no more Saw. There will be numerous knock offs (for example, the low-budget “Are You Scared?”), and it’s quite possible there will be some sort of spin-off or reboot. But there is no more SAW. This is upsetting, because, yes, some of the entries into the series aren’t great, but in general, Saw is a genius horror series.
   What failed about Saw 3D wasn’t the bad acting. That I can get over. What I didn’t like was the story. It was very sloppy and not as “put together” as the previous Saw movies. Re-introducing Dr. Gordon was smart, but they didn’t do it the right way. Also, the ending was extremely predictable, and I saw it coming 5 movies ago. If only it had a super shocker ending like the previous ones.
   Another thing that is always great about Saw movies is the traps. In this one, however, the traps are just decent. There was one that was very interesting, but some others weren’t that good.

   The acting in this movie is pretty bad. Not Oscar worthy, but not Razzie worthy.

    OK 2.5

    The director, Kevin Greutert, also directed Saw 6. He brought a whole new life to the series with the 6th movie, and that’s what I was hoping would be the case for the final installment. Also, the visuals were sloppy and the blood looked pink. I did see this in 3D when it came out… and the 3D was no good.
