  1. Quality
  2. Great 4.0

This movie, put simply, is horror gold. It’s the definition of a plain out horror movie. It was entertaining, clever, and EXTREMELY gory. The movie basically consists of a man setting up hundreds of traps around a family’s house. He is there to “collect” somebody to lock in his chest. While all this madness is going on, and man is also at there house for the reason of robbing it. He came at the wrong time.
The traps in this movie definitely have a “Saw” vibe to them, as this is the writing/directing team that did 3 of the Saw films.
What I love about The Collector, is that it is the goriest movie I’ve ever seen. One scene towards the beginning involves a man clipping off a woman’s tongue. At that point, you say to yourself, “How can they get worse than that?”…… but they find a way to get worse and worse. Worse to the point its almost more disturbing than The Human Centipede. One scene towards the end involves the same man cutting another man’s stomach open, and putting giant cockroaches in it. Gross. This movie is absolutely disgusting, but the appeal comes from the creativity, and the not-too-bad acting.

  3. Very Good 3.5

The acting is obviously not great, but it was pretty good. No highlights here. The little girl was pretty good, though.

  4. Male Stars Great 4.0
  5. Female Stars Good 3.0
  6. Female Costars Very Good 3.5
  7. Male Costars Perfect 5.0
  8. Really Great 4.5

As with any movie to come out of the minds of the creators of Saw, the direction, music and visuals are perfect. The writing…. not so much. What I really want to talk about here is the visuals. And, WOW, the gore was realistic. I mean, half the time, I thought i was watching a high budget snuff film. The buckets of blood in this movie looked so real, and I wish I could give them a six out of five.

  9. Direction Perfect 5.0
  10. Play Good 3.0
  11. Music Perfect 5.0
  12. Visuals Perfect 5.0
  13. Content
  14. Horrid 4.2
  15. Sex Erotic 3.5
  16. Violence Monstrous 5.0
  17. Rudeness Nasty 4.0
  18. Natural 1.0

The scariest part about this movie is the realism. This COULD happen. Mind you, it likely won’t, but my biggest fear is home invasion. Movies like The Strangers, or Funny Games, do not make me feel good about my home security system. Plus, I watched this movie alone… in the dark… and I was terrified.

  19. Circumstantial Natural 1.0
  20. Biological Natural 1.0
  21. Physical Natural 1.0

Regarding izzio’s Review
haha, somehow I can handle these things. I did cringe a lot, though… I think I have cringe wrinkles from this movie… is that possible?

Regarding izzio’s Review
Izzio, I don’t know how you can watch this stuff. Even just reading your reviews and the movies’ plots gives me the heeby-jeebies, and I’ve got the lights on and the doors lock in my studio apartment.
