   Good 3.0

   George Clooney plays Jack, an assassin who is hiding out in Italy awaiting his next assignment. While waiting and preparing, he meets and becomes involved with a local prostitute Clara (Violante Placido), and a local priest.

   The movie had moments that were very well done, but more often than not, got lost in itself. Maybe it was the fact that Placido is drop-dead beautiful, and it naked through most of the film that distracted itself, but I felt the film got to muddy in its storytelling for my liking. It was obviously filmed on location in Italy, which is a nice bonus considering the scenery is magnificent. However, it took me a while to really figure out who the main characters were, and where the story line is going. Now, maybe that’s part of the premise of the film…building on the unknowing next assignment. But I still found it troubling. It has the feel of a foreign film.

   The climax itself was good, although not great, and certainly, you seem to know what’s going to happen by then before it does. The film didn’t pack the emotional final crescendo of an ending like other films (Se7en comes to mind, having just been reminded by MJ5K’s great review).

   So, all-in-all, a good film, with a beautiful and captivating actress.

   Watched in the theater.

   Clooney seems to be unsure if he really wants to be part of this film. Placido is good and a refreshing new face.
