Demona's Review

  1. Quality
  2. Really Great 4.5

This film brought back a classic tale in a bit of a new spin. Lawrence Talbot was called back home by his brother’s fiance, Gwen, and told about his disappearance. When he returns home, he goes to visit with the gypsies to find out if they know anything in the matter at hand. His visit was interrupted by an angry animal that starts sweeping through the small village and starts destroying everything in it’s path. He goes out in search of the animal to destroy it, but is then attacked and left with the mark that would change him forever.

Now this film, I would not recommend for children under the age of 13, but who am I to judge.
  3. Good 3.0

Benicio Del Toro played Lawrence and did a really good job at it. This is not the typical role that I would see for Del Toro, but it suited him nicely. Sir Anthony Hopkins played Sir John Talbot, and with his extended experience in the film industry, he played his role perfectly. Gwen was played by Emily Blunt, who’s timeless beauty was well suited for the time period that was portrayed in the film. She gave the phrase “damsel in distress” a face to appreciate. Lastly, Who better to go after the good/bad guy than AGENT SMITH…Hugo Weaving played Abberline the detective who kept trying to find Lawrence and bring him to justice. Hugo did well, considering it’s role that he should be used to.. he’d better have.

  4. Male Stars Good 3.0
  5. Female Stars Good 3.0
  6. Female Costars Good 3.0
  7. Male Costars Good 3.0
  8. Great 4.0

The film was very well put together. Putting a new feel on a classic film and not ruining it’s authenticity, made it work for me. I have no complaints on anything. Well done.

  9. Direction Great 4.0
  10. Play Great 4.0
  11. Music Great 4.0
  12. Visuals Great 4.0
  13. Content
  14. Risqué 2.5

Gory, Violent, savage, all of the things you want in a film about werewolves. I loved that they were as gruesome as they could get without looking like they were trying so hard and executed it well.

  15. Sex Innocent 1.0
  16. Violence Savage 4.2
  17. Rudeness Salty 2.3
  18. Fantasy 5.0

A classic tale brought forward for the new generation and yet staying true to the time that it was created. This film is true to the phrase “Werewolf movie”, since you can’t think of anything else throughout but that. Instant classic.

  19. Circumstantial Fantasy 5.0
  20. Biological Fantasy 5.0
  21. Physical Fantasy 5.0

Thanks man, appreciated. Its a great film.. I wouldn’t say that it’s the best of all time, but it certainly stands on its own!
