  1. Quality
  2. Great 4.0

Mezmerizing….. if you are a rock fan, it is going to be hard to pull yourself away from this film. From the first scene of Jack White creating a handmade electric guitar, scene after scene will draw you in to what makes these guitar legends (Jimmy Paige of Zeppelin, U2’s The Edge, and Jack White of the White Stripes) tick. The tribute isn’t all about them, it is about creativity and professionalism, and a dedication to all those other talented musicians that provided the influence. Enjoy this for the guitar playing, enjoy it for the great old scenes of their bands playing, and enjoy it for the insight in to some incredibly creative minds.

  3. Really Great 4.5

Each of the guitarists are very different. Jimmy seems lost in whimsical thoughts, Jack in raw and rough, and The Edge shows sheer professionalism via his endless tinkering. But for a really great review on the guitarists, you gotta read Wick’s review

  4. Male Stars Really Great 4.5
  5. Female Stars Really Great 4.5
  6. Female Costars Really Great 4.5
  7. Male Costars Really Great 4.5
  8. Great 4.0

The film is a mastery of infusing blends of fresh interviews, produced vignettes, and the documentary of the gathering. What is shown is very revealing of the men behind the guitars. For example, scenes of Jack White’s bloody fingers, The Edge’s focused tinkering, and Jimmy’s lost facial expressions. What must have been hard is getting them to fuse in their jams… which sometimes came across as awkward, but there were some gems, such as “In my Time of Dying”, and the ending with “Take a Load off Annie.” But none of the jams came close to the old band footage…. with the crown jewel being “Stairway to Heaven” by the god of the bunch….
