This movie is about an average joe from suburbia who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He sees his son get murdered in what he thinks is a gas station holdup, but turns out to be a gang initiation. From here he vows revenge on those responsible for the death of his son but does not know how to go about getting it, at first. |

This movie should win several awards. When an average girl crosses the Russian maffia, just doing what she believes is right, she could bring trouble down on her entire family. This movie has some spectaular acting, headed up by Viggo Mortenson who does an exceptional job. All around this movie was just about perfect. Though I don't see it gaining the acclaim of "Scarface" or "The Godfather", it has found a place in my collection, among what are considered some of the greatest mob movies made. What can be said about this movie besides, WOW! This has to be one of the all around greatest movies I have seen in a long time. The acting, the script, filming, editing, everything is awsome. There are a few stories going on in this film and they come together perfectly. The main story is about a little girl that is forced to move to a millitary base because her mother is getting married to the man in charge. John Rambo lives in a little village just out side the border of Burma. He has moved there for the purpose of forgetting life and humanity, and the cruelties of both. Then a church mission group shows up and need an escort up river into Burma, and into a war zone. He gives them the ride and then heads back to his village to forget about them.
