   Occasionally succeeds on the funny front based on Eddie Murphy’s multi-character talents, but never really gives the big laughs.

   Unfortunately, dark overtones and cheap jokes may leave a bad taste in your mouth (even one of the character’s labels a reference as racist).

   Eddie Murphy has the physical part down and does the multiple characters well, but needed to punch up the laughs.

   The beautiful Thandie Newton has great presence and facial gestures.
