Pretty Awful 0.5
This is one of the worst movies to ever shame the ‘Superman’ name. Horrible acting and directing combine with a cast that have absolutly NO chemistry to make a film that belongs in the “All-time Worst Movies Ever Made” hall of shame!
-
Awful 0.0
I’ll hesitate to suggest that the two main stars should give up acting. However, in this particular film it appears that ‘wooden’ is too mild of a term. Combine this with a total lack of any type of chemistry and you get this piece of filth.
-
Male Stars Awful 0.0
Aside from the fact that Brandon Routh pouts around and mummbles most of his lines in this film, his acting is too poor in all other respects to ever even attempt to make a living in the field of acting.
-
Female Stars Awful 0.0
All I can say about Kate Bosworth’s acting is this: The fact that she has her own Barbie doll modeled after this role is very appropriate.
-
Female Costars Pretty Awful 0.5
Parker Posey deserves much better that to have to put this stinker on her resume.
-
Male Costars Bad 1.0
While James Marsden tries very hard to save this movie, Kevin Spacey sinks it. Mr. Spacey’s acting in this movie makes one want to vomit (repeatedly).
-
Barely OK 2.0
Aside from fairly good visuals and a passable musical score, this film offers nothing else.
-
Direction Bad 1.0
I went into this with high hopes. I loved Bryan Singer’s direction of the two ‘X-Men’ movies, so I thought he would handle this movie well. I was sadly mistaken. I don’t know what he was trying to do, but he accomplished what multitudes of super-villians have been trying to do for 50 some odd years. He Killed Superman (or at least wounded him badly).
-
Play Awful 0.0
I can’t bring myself to try to describe just how awful the dialogue is in this movie. Perhaps if I get a vomit bag, I can try to help you understand why the only way to even attempt to sit through this movie is with the volume muted.
-
Music Very Good 3.5
-
Visuals Really Great 4.5
What keeps this movie from being marked ‘Perfect’ is two things. First, the contact lenses that Brandon Routh wears are horrible! They make his eyes look like he is doing drugs and are distracting everytime the camera pans in. Second, the flying scenes look like something out of a bad video game.

-SPOILER ALERT!- Someone who is in love does not get engaged to someone else in only five years time. It takes longer than that to give up hope and start looking for love elsewhere! -

-SPOILER ALERT!- A course in middle-school biology would teach one that a human’s genetics and the genetics of an alien are not compatable. Therefore, they would not be able to have a child. -
