Really Great 4.5
Any film with both Hanks and Roberts has to be a winner, and “Charlie Wilson’s War” did not dissappoint. Alone, Hanks was a crack-up as a boozing/womanizing/just-get-by politician — but when paired with Hoffman, It got really funny. Roberts was a natural at the rich Texas woman who likes to dabble in political affairs and the chemistry between everyone was great.
Charlie was indeed successful, and the movie ends in a way that wishes we (the US) was smart enough to follow-through with his plans. -

I’m glad you agreed with me. I have come across some Julia Roberts fans that think anything she does is gold. Unfortunately for them, I don’t have the same view. I think that Julia has done some incredible acting, but it’s limited and those incredible roles are normally few and far between. |
