Great 4.0
From Mike Judge (Beavis & Butthead) comes this hilarious tale set amongst the cubicles of a generic software firm. Full of clever jokes and witty commentary on the ludicrous nature of corporate life this gem of a comedy is sure to resonate with anyone who has ever worked in an office or for a corporation, and to provide you with a whole new collection of fun catch-phrases (“Did you get the memo about the TPS reports?”). It’s obvious that the film was a labor of love and after watching it you’re sure to love it as well!

Great 4.0
Comedy is a lot tougher to act than most people realize, which is why the performances in this film deserve our kudos. The main characters are all very real, which makes it easy to relate, yet hit their marks on the jokes like the seasoned pros most of them are.

Office Space was Mike Judge’s first directorial effort, and you can kind of tell. He doesn’t do anything wrong, but you can tell he’s inexperienced behind the lens – there’s nothing new, or particularly risky or exciting. Having said all that he wrote the script and directed the actors to hit their marks to great, and hilarious, effect.

Tame 1.2
No too much edge at all. The language is fairly tame, there’s no sex or nudity, minimal violence (and that’s mainly to a machine), and very little that may be considered offensive at all.

Sex Innocent 1.2

Violence Gentle 1.2

Rudeness Polite 1.2

Glib 1.6
Life in the corporation is skewed somewhat for comedic effect, yet I think that we all can relate to most of the people and situations in the film. Whether it be memos about reports that cause 3 managers to have a “discussion” with you, “consultants” who fire you for efficiencies sake with a smile, or the weirdo who mumbles to himself in the corner whilst cradling his coveted red Swingline stapler this film is sure ring true to you cubicle fiends.
