Great 4.0
Revisionist Westerns pack a punch when successfully shorn of everything non-elemental. Terror on the Prairie packs one hell of a punch, simultaneously elemental (Gina Carano plays a totally traditional wife and mother.) and revisionist (She’s also an ultra badass.). Plus, she’s smarter than the men, and smokin!
The Daily Wire has a winner in Terror on the Prairie.
The movie’s frank take on the cost of violence brings to mind Unforgiven, the gold standard of revisionist Westerns. This ain’t Unforgiven, but it’s within shouting distance. The Daily Wire has another winner.

Great 4.0
Gina Carano rocks.
The great Gina Carano is a first-class badass, capable of holding a movie together based on her personal power and charisma alone. That’s necessary because the rest of the cast can barely carry a candle compared to her. That’s not great for her because her movie would do better with better foils. Next time.
Her supporting cast ain’t great.
- Nick Searcy is an actor I admire more than like, here in the essential role of Mr. Evil Badass.
- Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone
- Rhys Becker
- Tyler Fischer
- Gabriel-Kane Day Lewis as The Kid: Yep, Daniel Day-Lewis named his son Gabriel-Kane. It’s a British actor thing.
