   Before Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe were Oscar winners, they stared together in this sci-fi action film from the early days of the internet. Everything about this film is heavy on the cheesiness, and advances in internet technology make some of the tech-talk laughable now. Still, for a fun time that requires no serious thought, this film is still watchable.

   Crowe plays an android serial killer… Washington plays a cop with a metal arm. Given the roles, even these great actors can only do so much.

    Special effects are pretty good. Relatively seamless integration of CGI and live action at various points.

    No sex. Mild language, typical for an R-rated action film. The action is pretty intense, but most doesn’t involve blood. Crowe’s character leaks green fluid when shot.

    A virtual reality program turns into a andriod serial killer, and the cop who was best at the game is ordered to track him down. The film is supposed to be set in the future, but save for the android technology, a lot of the other aspects of technology already seemed dated by today’s computer technology.
