Very Good 3.5
A fairly intense look at the aftermath and manhunt after the Boston Marathon bombing. Patriot’s Day does a much better job of getting us close to the Tsarnaev brothers than they do the patriotic first responders. Regarding the responders, nobody really seems to take the lead in the movie, including Mark Wahlberg or Kevin Bacon. It seems more like a hectic mess of activity with random events of dramatic heroism from Wahlberg who inexplicably gets put in just at the right time. Perhaps that is what things are really like – but I was hoping for more up-front Wahlberg.
