Very Good 3.5
Let me start with a few quotes: “I count 6 (bodies) sir. But its hard to tell which bits go in which casket”, or how about “I blew away 6 Taliban today, and now I get to go home and barbeque”. Um yeah, ‘Good Kill’ was surreal from the start. Ethan Hawke waves at his neighbor, commutes into work, blows people away, then returns to his drinking and family problems. Sounds like many of us except for the blowing away people part. So yeah, this guy has a better excuse than most for having family problems. Good Kill takes it on. A bit plodding at times, and the forced match with Zoe Kravitz didn’t work for me, but in the end the movie added an interesting new perspective and story about modern-day war making.
