   Secret society of wizards and witches in New York City of the 1900’s is the backdrop of an incoherent story about wild magic creatures on the loose. Although this has J.K. Rowling’s stamp all over it, it just comes across as amateur hour – where the story seems to exist purely for the purpose of the surreal action.
