Very Good 3.5
Although it stretches the facts about Desmond Doss, the story about the man who refuses to kill in Okinawa and still wins a Medal of Honor is no less an inspiring war story. Mel Gibson is obviously better at directing grisly war scenes than cheesy romance bits – but if you can suffer through the latter, you will be rewarded by the former. Its also a bit tough taking Vince Vaughn seriously….
