Great 4.0
You know the phrase “They just don’t make ’em like this any more”? That about sums up my feelings about Brooklyn. No big twists, no major action, just a great story. Follow Ellis (Saoirse Ronan) as she follows her sister’s wishes and moves from Ireland to Brooklyn to start a new life. This was all too common of a story in the 40’s and 50’s, and to see it come to life from an Irish woman’s perspective was actually quite engaging. Saoirse Ronan and much of the cast were incredibly Irish in mannerisms, humor, and of-course looks. I especially liked the Irish Mother hen Emma Lowe. Totally reminded me of my Irish Aunt back in Jersey. Anyway, go see this movie while it is still around. It makes for an especially great date night affair.
