Very Good 3.5
Russell Crowe had some mighty big shoes to fill as Noah. After all, how could you bean the 1956 great Ten Commandments with the mighty Charlton Heston. But Darren Aronofsky and Russell go to the next level with big acting, big effects, and even a smattering of non-biblical fabrications and special effects – which detracted from the experience rather than improved it. In the end, Noah was a solid entertainer, which apparently is a rarity among biblical film flops of late.
