  1. Quality
  2. Good 3.0

What was supposed to be a story about a Metallica roadie on an urgent mission turns out to be basically a concert film, but Dane DeHaan does give it the ‘ol college try – but didn’t have much of a chance in the aimless and over the top secondary story line. That said, if you are a Metallica fan, or if you have never seen Metallica – its worth checking out as a stream. BTW, my favorite Metallica songs is at the very end, but it is worth the wait. This one gets a good rating because of the music. If I were rating the back-story, it’d get a ‘Pretty Bad’.

  3. Perfect 5.0

James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett are like one. They rock-out in tight unison seemingly without much effort, but lots of emotion. I’m not a huge fan, but this was a fine trio to behold. Dane DeHaan wasn’t much more than a pretty face.

  4. Male Stars Perfect 5.0
  5. Female Stars Perfect 5.0
  6. Female Costars Perfect 5.0
  7. Male Costars Perfect 5.0
  8. OK 2.5

Why did they bother with the back-story? It didn’t add anything, and was a gimmick at best.

  9. Direction OK 2.5
  10. Play OK 2.5
  11. Music OK 2.5
  12. Visuals OK 2.5
  13. Content
  14. Tame 1.0
  15. Sex Innocent 1.0
  16. Violence Gentle 1.0
  17. Rudeness Polite 1.0
  18. Surreal 2.7

The surreal rating is for the back-story. Obviously, the concert was 100% Metallica-au-natural!

  19. Circumstantial Surreal 2.7
  20. Biological Surreal 2.7
  21. Physical Surreal 2.7
