  1. Quality
  2. Good 3.0

An updated made-for-TV look at the classic tale of the search for Flint’s treasure. Reconnect with young Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver, and the other characters we remember so well as they set out on the famous journey. This movie is a great reminder about why Stevenson’s story is so great. It is almost scary to watch a movie version for fear that it might detract from its original greatness. However, this version does it solid justice. Rum drinking, treasure hoarding, swashbuckling, thievery, conniving, and the ultimate respect for the justice of the seas are all apparent, as is some darn good acting.

  3. Very Good 3.5

Toby Regbo and Eddie Izzard have the lion’s share of the acting as Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver respectively. A very decent job by both. David Harwood is a standout as the dramatic Billy Bones, who gets his due early on. Appearances by Donald Sutherland as the revered Captain Flint. Elija Wood also shows his face, but not much of a part.

  4. Male Stars Very Good 3.5
  5. Female Stars Very Good 3.5
  6. Female Costars Very Good 3.5
  7. Male Costars Very Good 3.5

Nothing special with the production, but it is a cut above most made-for-TV movies.
