OK 2.5
Steve Zahn, Jack Black, and Jason Biggs are a well grouped trio of funny men in a Neil Diamond cover band. Jason’s lead-singer character lets low-self-esteem allow him to be trapped by queen-b*tch Amanda Peet in to being her boy-toy man slave and giving up the band and his true passion. Of course, the Neil Diamond gang will have none of it and employ some crazy tactics to wrench him away from torment, soon to be helped by the presence of pretty Amanda Detner. Saving Silverman is about what you’d expect from this genre of corny comedy. As long as that is what you are expecting, you’ll have sufficient LOL action to make it an enjoyable experience.

OK 2.5
Steve Zahn – well known for this type of movie – fits right in and delivers
Jack Black – back in his pure juvenile humor days – although he’s younger and less developed, you can tell it was his hey-day.
Jason Biggs – so great as the dweeb of the group. He’s permanently associated with this sort of thing, and for good reason.
Amanda Peet – She’s got the gold-star of this cast as the supremely self-centered b*tch
Amanda Detner – pretty, sweet, and mostly innocent. Not that dynamic of an actor – but it works. -
