  1. Quality
  2. Great 4.0

Retro Depp and DiCaprio in this charming film about the oddities of life and love in the podunk town of Endura. The best part about the movie was the great acting from depp and DiCaprio, not to mention a great cast of characters by Juliette Lewis, John C Reily, Mary Steenburgen, and Crispin Glover. The plot was a bit meandering, but the movie was surprisingly engrossing and enjoyable, and for family viewing, it even manages to teach a few lessons about responsibility and decent living.

  3. Really Great 4.5

It is totally obvious from this film that Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Juliette Lewis are stars in the making, and Mary Stenburgen was in her prime. Special kudos to DiCaprio who played a mentally retarded boy nearly flawlessly. John C Reilly is also great and Crispin Glover makes a strong showing.

Regarding BrianSez’s Review
Good pickup Bri. I’ve long meant to view Gilbert Grape but never got around to it. Now that you’ve pointed out how deep the great cast is, and that it’s available via Netflix OD, I’m putting it on my Gotta View List.
