Really Great 4.5
What would it be like to be the body-double of Saddam’s sadistic son Uday? Living the high life, then scrambling when ‘Shock and Awe’ started to take over? Devil’s Double tells this unbelievable story. Opulent living, Sexy French girlfriend, German doctors, parties every night, more drugs than you know what to do with, drawers full of Rolex watches,…. you get the picture. Well, half the picture. The other half is psychotic narcissism, kidnapping young girls, rape and torture. Yeah – that’s what happens when absolute power his granted to a madman. Sadam appeared relatively sedate and annoyed. But sons will be sons. We see all this through the eyes of Latif Yahia – a look-alike brought in to be a double for the endless assassination attempts. Instead of being star struck, Latif quickly sees through the false pretenses and finds a way to tolerate it and look the part. After all, if he falters, it likely would be the end of him and his family. All in all a fantastic movie that shouldn’t be missed.

Really Great 4.5
Dominic Cooper is outstanding as Uday and Latif. A near perfect rendition of a maniac. Ludivine Sanger is decent at the coy then loving Sarrab – who falls for the adult and strong Latif. Rest of the cast does a commendable job.

Great 4.0
This was a great movie to make and at the right time. The story was fascinating. What the elite Iraqis were doing with themselves near the end. Makes the war seem a bit more justifiable. Add to that great acting and you’ve got a winner.
