  1. Quality
  2. OK 2.5

Drunkard has-been coach Bill is given a second chance… with the Girl’s basketball team. This, in a Hoosier town where basketball is king. The movie has a predictable formula: rocky start with girls who aren’t that in to it, tough going with ex-wife and estranged daughter, turnaround when the girls see the good in him, emotional game wins, etc. So, it was an Ok movie with a made-for-TV feel. It has many funny and light moments and would be serve well as a family friendly movie night attraction.

  3. OK 2.5

Sam Rockwell overdoes the jaded coach bit, but is Ok. Young Emma Roberts (daughter of Erik and niece of Julia) shows her potential, but she’ll have to shake it up a bit to make it in the big leagues. Margo Martindale and Rob Corddry are decent as the assistant coach and principal.
