  1. Quality
  2. OK 2.5

Brothers Brian and Danny Leary are two very different personalities growing up 1970’s blue collar Irish Brooklyn. You know, drunkard dad, friends who don’t aspire to be much, and one of the brothers constantly flirting with the wrong side of the law. Harboring his artistic talent, and meeting a promising girl, Brian gives us hope that one of them can make something of themselves. I didn’t have high hopes for this film, but was pleasantly surprised by an engaging story and solid acting.

  3. Good 3.0

The cast seems to be comprised of folks mainly known for their TV work. Nick Thurston, whom I’m now watching on the new Grimm TV series does a decent job as the “better brother” Brian. Also liked Leslie Murphy (House, Cold Case) as the cute Brooklyn girl who falls for Brian. Really great job by Stephen Lang (currently on the TV series Terra Nova) who plays the alcohol sodden warehouse working stiff.

  4. Male Stars Good 3.0
  5. Female Stars Good 3.0
  6. Female Costars Good 3.0
  7. Male Costars Good 3.0
  8. OK 2.5

This movie lacks the polish and punch of many of the films that target the same subject matter (too many to mention!), however, it saves itself with a good story and unexpected success with picking out unknown acting talent that works.

  9. Direction OK 2.5
  10. Play OK 2.5
  11. Music OK 2.5
  12. Visuals OK 2.5
  13. Content
  14. Risqué 2.3
  15. Sex Titillating 2.3
  16. Violence Fierce 2.3
  17. Rudeness Salty 2.3
  18. Natural 1.0
  19. Circumstantial Natural 1.0
  20. Biological Natural 1.0
  21. Physical Natural 1.0
