Really Great 4.5
Brazil’s Ayton Senna and Formula One – a match made in heaven. And a perfect subject for a documentary. Unlike many documentaries, Senna is fast paced, and the racing footage alone was enough to keep things tense and riveting throughout. However, this is also a well balanced documentary; Not only on focusing on the racing action, but also the sometimes bitter politics and tense rivalry with France’s Prost. From his early success at go-carts to the absolute dominance of Formula One, Senna seemed wise beyond his years. Not the strong silent type, but rather purposeful, spiritual, and vocal to the end of his 34-year-short life. I was very glad I watched Senna – one of the best documentaries I have ever experienced.
