Pretty Awful 0.5
Disjointed, unfunny and preachy aren’t what the doctor calls for in family entertainment. Oh yeah, in a movie full of musical numbers, it doesn’t help that the songs are neither memorable or catchy.
How disjointed and unfunny? The theater we were in was dead, no laughter, only the occasional question from little ones asking about the confusing story.
Happy Feet 2 is little more than a meal ticket for the hackneyed crew who made it, plus also a sop to their sense of moral superiority given its melting icecap subplot. The first one wasn’t a classic, but stands heads and shoulders above this sequel.
Families looking to avoid The Twilight Saga won’t find Happy Feet 2 a happy alternative.
