Wick's Review

Created Oct 17, 2007 03:25AM PST • Edited Jun 14, 2018 05:56PM PST

  1. Quality
  2. OK 2.5

Oddly hard to watch, considering the bevy of watchable movie stars in the large cast. At least this episode has a coherent plot, an improvement over the muddle that was Ocean’s 12.

  3. OK 2.5
  4. Male Stars OK 2.5
  5. Female Stars Very Good 3.5

Nice to see the all time sultry Ellen Barkin looking hot.

  6. Female Costars OK 2.5
  7. Male Costars OK 2.5
  8. Good 3.0

Shame on Steven Soderburgh, a hugly talented director given a massive budget and raft of mega-stars, and all he creates is a movie with less charm than an episode of Vegas or Dan Tanna. The Ocean’s franchise is supposed to be a James Bond-like high gloss, high style romp. Instead, after three episodes now, the style is nothing but skin deep since any wit and charm are nowhere to be found.

  9. Direction Good 3.0
  10. Play Pretty Bad 1.5

The script strives for droll, achieves insipid. There is not a truly funny line in the entire movie. Hell, the best scene the trailer could pull out has George Clooney asking Andy Garcia ‘Are you ready?’, and Garcia replying ‘I was born ready.’ Then Clooney rolls his eyes. With dialogue that flat, eye rolling is all that is deserved.

  11. Music Very Good 3.5
  12. Visuals Great 4.0
  13. Content
  14. Tame 1.3
  15. Sex Innocent 1.3
  16. Violence Gentle 1.4
  17. Rudeness Polite 1.3
  18. Glib 1.8
  19. Circumstantial Supernatural 3.2
  20. Biological Glib 1.1
  21. Physical Glib 1.1
