Good 3.0
I love Marvel movies – they get to take the super-hero characters from our comic old-school past and breathe new life in to them. This time, with a Norse legend twist. It was great fun watching Chris Hemsworth as the self impressed Thor. The movie starts with the sci-fi underpinnings of life in the astral realms then predictably plays on how the outlandish affects us 20th century mortals. Not Marvel’s best showing, but fun for fans of the genre.

Very Good 3.5
Chris Hemsworth was a good pick for Thor, he has the look and the narcissistic shtick down. Natalie Portman fit in well, but I didn’t buy the forced chemistry. Loved Anthony Hopkins as Odin. As Wick put it – he knows how to be a king. Always like Clark Gregg as the understated antagonist.

Good 3.0
Thor didn’t grab me as much as other Marvel films. I think I wasn’t in to the whole sci-fi aspect of the norse realm world. I think more of a fighting bad guys on earth slant would have worked better for me.
