  1. Quality
  2. OK 2.5

Starts with a bang, gets incoherent in the middle, and then finishes off strong. Double Jeopardy has a decent story that unfortunately gets marred by too many shallow and/or unbelievable sequences that even the exciting finish can’t overcome. This earns it a “watch if nothing else is on” status, and if you are like me, maybe you will be entertained enough by Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones that you won’t quite get to that turn-the-channel state.

  3. Good 3.0

Despite the botched writing, Ashley Judd shows good range: The beautiful wife, the victim, the vengeful pursuer. Ok, some of the scenes were a little over the top, and at other times, lacking emotion – but all in all, a decent performance. Tommy Lee is as solid as ever infusing his cantankerous nature in a way that makes his character eminently believable.

  4. Male Stars Good 3.0
  5. Female Stars Good 3.0
  6. Female Costars Good 3.0
  7. Male Costars Good 3.0
  8. OK 2.5

I’m not sure what Bruce Beresford was thinking. He had all the bases covered: good plot, great actors, decent filmmaking. He had to go mess it up with shoddy writing that leaves you with that “made for network TB” feeling. Oh well.

  9. Direction OK 2.5
  10. Play OK 2.5
  11. Music OK 2.5
  12. Visuals OK 2.5
  13. Content
  14. Risqué 1.7
  15. Sex Titillating 1.7
  16. Violence Fierce 1.7
  17. Rudeness Salty 1.7
  18. Surreal 2.1
  19. Circumstantial Surreal 2.1
  20. Biological Surreal 2.1
  21. Physical Surreal 2.1
