  1. Quality
  2. Very Good 3.5

This was a surprisingly funny movie! Get to know prison guard Vince (Andy Garcia), his City Island family, and all of its Bronx Itialian character and drama. This would be entertainment enough, but with a twist: they all have secret lives that unravel when Vince brings his secret love-child home. Misunderstandings and miscommunication are the LOL generation tactics and a great cast of characters make for a very enjoyable film.

  3. Very Good 3.5

Andy Garcia – Vinnie Rizzo – if the name doesn’t describe it to you already, then let me tell you – he’s pretty darn good at the NY Italian shtick. Julianna Margulies is equally as adept with all the drama and no-nonsense mom. Loved Ezra Miller as the sarcastic son, and Emily Mortimer shows her acting range. Short stints with Alan Arkin were great. Steven Strait was also pretty good with his even-handed delivery.

  4. Male Stars Very Good 3.5
  5. Female Stars Very Good 3.5
  6. Female Costars Very Good 3.5
  7. Male Costars Very Good 3.5
  8. Very Good 3.5

This movie truly surprised me, and I was skeptical at first. A great job at letting you slowly get what the family is all about, and once that is set up – the LOL generation is non-stop. Great writing and comedy build-up. Classic.

  9. Direction Very Good 3.5
  10. Play Very Good 3.5
  11. Music Very Good 3.5
  12. Visuals Very Good 3.5
  13. Content
  14. Tame 1.5
  15. Sex Innocent 1.5
  16. Violence Gentle 1.5
  17. Rudeness Polite 1.5
  18. Glib 2.0
  19. Circumstantial Glib 2.0
  20. Biological Glib 2.0
  21. Physical Glib 2.0

Regarding Wick’s Review
Usually we are closer on our reviews, so it is a good thing I didn’t read yours before watching this movie, which I really liked. Guess that’s the way it goes in the reviewer’s world!
