Perfect 5.0
One of the finest Westerns ever made, The Proposition is a bloody, haunting, beautiful, violent epic poem and the savagry of man, the harshness of nature and the country of Australia.

The whole cast is amazing. Standouts include John Hurt, Danny Huston, Guy Pierce and the unbelievably great performance by Ray Winstone.

I have to say I’m very interested in seeing The Proposition now that I’ve read Massie’s review. Westerns are one of my favorite genres, and the notion of a Western from Down Under is intriguing on its face. I sort of recall The Proposition when it came out, but it passed without a trace. Now I’ll have to rent it. |
