  1. Quality
  2. Great 4.0

A silly and very funny film about Tim Lippe, an insurance agent from a sleepy Wisconsin town – sent to the “big city” of Cedar Rapids to an insurance convention. From the beginning, this “hangover-esque” film is non stop laughs, a little irreverent, but mostly just goofy humor that takes a jab at the supposedly stiff-necked and boring insurance agent. Of course, being that this film features Ed Helms, you watch as a Tim goes on for a ride with juvenile events that are largely out of his control, and meet stereotypes of the usual roles at a convention: the dude that drinks and parties too much, the straight-shooter, and the floozy-ish party gal — all of whom are well played and add lots of laughs. Very enjoyable!

  3. Great 4.0

Ed Helms is in his usual role of the guy that spins out of control – and he’s perfect at it. Loved the main cohort John C Reily who was made for his role of the drinker with heart. Ann Heche made a great addition to the crew with her great party gal role, and Isiah Whitlock with decent acting as the straight man. Of course, the notable crew doesn’t stop there — with Kurtwood Smith, Sigourney Weaver, and others to make up a remarkably seasoned cast.

  4. Male Stars Great 4.0
  5. Female Stars Great 4.0
  6. Female Costars Great 4.0
  7. Male Costars Great 4.0
  8. Great 4.0

Even though the slapstick humor is no longer novel, the combination of funny situations with a top notch cast presented a great entertainment package.

  9. Direction Great 4.0
  10. Play Great 4.0
  11. Music Great 4.0
  12. Visuals Great 4.0
  13. Content
  14. Risqué 2.0

Drug use and convention sex – but presented in a good nature’d way.

  15. Sex Titillating 2.0
  16. Violence Fierce 2.0
  17. Rudeness Salty 2.0
  18. Glib 1.8
  19. Circumstantial Glib 1.8
  20. Biological Glib 1.8
  21. Physical Glib 1.8

Regarding Wick’s Review
Yeah, I go out less now than ever given the big screen in my family room. But it’s always fun to sit amongst an audience convulsed with laughter.
