   Romans find themselves in a bad spot facing the Goths. Visually grand enactments of savagery between rough-hewn armies and a tale of survival in the woods and streams. Not especially notable for its story or acting, but for those of you who enjoy straight up period fighting tales will appreciate this movie for with grit, gore, and attention to fighting detail.

   Michael Fassbender does a solid job as the leading tough guy.

    Heavy slashery use in this Roman era fight-chase flick is a solid formula if not too cheesy. It got close to some heavy cheddar at times, but avoided being ridiculous.
