Barely OK 2.0
The concept that humans can be paid to be controlled as live avatars in perverse on-line games is somewhat compelling of a story. I mean, if it were actually possible, I’m sure there’d be someone out there trying to make money in that way. This drew me in, but too bad the execution and production of this film didn’t quite live up to its promise. There was too much repeat reliance on the same-old, same-old violence, and the depth of acting just wasn’t there. That said, it finish more strongly than it started – with more focus on the characters themselves and even a little bit of meaningful drama.
