Spaceghost's Review

  1. Quality
  2. Great 4.0

Umm. . . . I just. . . . uh. . . wow. There just really are very few words that can be found when thinking of this movie. Bar none, this is the sickest movie I have ever seen. It is also, however, one of the best horror movies out there.

The Human Centipede is about (what else) beautiful female tourists caught in the web of a sick, sadistic villain. It starts out like a generic slasher flick, but it executes better than most. You have got a sick, believeable villain and a situation that is real and scary. I came into this movie, thinking that it was going to be a severely over the top, tongue in cheek movie that I was going to get a good chuckle out of. Instead, I got a very real, sick and unnerving movie that I really have no idea how I made it through the entire thing without shutting off. Dr. Heiter is a once world-renowned surgeon, specializing in siameze twin seperation. As is known to happen in the doctor profesion, Dr. Heiter develops a god complex that leads him to think, “If I can pull people apart, I can also put them together.” This leads him to create the Human Centiped – 3 people joined together by one long digestive tract. That’s right, that means they are surgically joined together ass to mouth.

I don’t ever really want to see this movie again, but because of that fact, I have to say that it was a really well done horror flick. Personally, I have to give this movie a 0 as being just plain awful. But if I am reviewing this flick for how well it is put together, then I have to give it at least a 4 overall.

  3. Great 4.0

Why would anyone want to be in this flick? Well, this movie will be talked about and it will get attention. Beyond that, its really hard to understand why anyone would want to be remembered for being in this movie.

By far, the best part of this movie is its villain, Dr. Heiter, played by Dieter Laser. The guy is charming when he needs to be, intelligent as the character calls for, and just a bit cracked in the head. Had you put him in another flick, I would like to see him again for sure. He was serious, creepy and exactly what you want for a horror film villain.

How do you make an incredibly hot girl like Ashley Williams not attractive? Sew her mouth to someone’s ass. Ashley did a good job of showing the pain and discomfort of being in this situation and makes you feel it just that much more. As Lindsay, it is Ashley you follow through this trip and in the end, she is the hero you want to prevail.

  4. Male Stars Perfect 5.0
  5. Female Stars Very Good 3.5
  6. Female Costars Very Good 3.5
  7. Male Costars Very Good 3.5
  8. Very Good 3.5

Well done. Makes you physically uncomfortable in many different areas and takes what is a severely outlandish idea (sewing 3 people together) and makes it something believeable.

  9. Direction Very Good 3.5
  10. Play Very Good 3.5
  11. Music Very Good 3.5
  12. Visuals Very Good 3.5
  13. Content
  14. Sordid 3.3
  15. Sex Titillating 2.5

You have some female nudity, but it is not sexy or attractive really even a little bit.

  16. Violence Savage 4.5

The violence is not gratuitous and evil, but it is graphic. When you see the Human Centipede trying to move and see the stitches start to bleed it is a bit graphic. It is not, however, people being chopped up with blood spraying on everyone’s faces.

  17. Rudeness Profane 3.0
  18. Surreal 2.5

You don’t think this is something that could really ever happen, until you see the movie. Then it feels medically possible and real. When the lead human of the centipede has to “feed” the next person and that next person is constipated because of the “food” that they are receiving and then the third person is getting very sick due to infection, then you start to feel different. You start to see that maybe there is a person out there that is sick enough to do this, and if so this is exactly what would happen.

  19. Circumstantial Surreal 2.5
  20. Biological Surreal 2.5
  21. Physical Surreal 2.5
