  1. Quality
  2. Very Good 3.5

I had a lot of fun watching Red. A great, albeit aging, all-star cast, good-old tongue-in-cheek humor infused in to an action-packed “I know what is going to happen next but I don’t care” story. Great “old guy still kicks ass” storyline and action sequences that surprise and delight given the age of the people involved. An all around funny and entertaining movie that should delight most audiences.

  3. Very Good 3.5

Bruce Willis is having fun doing his shtick, and the pairing with Mary Louise Parker was cute. Sure, it isn’t a new shtick – but it is great for a film like this one. Helen Mirren, Karl Urban, Richard Dreyfuss, Brian Cox, and Morgan Freeman all added significant value and character to the film. And John Malkovich, a surprise hit with me. I would have left Ernie Borgnine out of it – was sad in a way seeing his understated and subservient role.
