  1. Quality
  2. Very Good 3.5

Slow start, but strong finish. I must admit that as I watched the early part of the film I thought to myself that it was going to be tedious as it wandered its way through South African history. Morgan Freeman as Nandela was great – but it was just hard to connect at enough of a level to be engrossed in the story. However, once the film gelled around Nelson’s brilliant “unite through rugby” strategy, things became less cerebral, and of course, that meant I could enjoy the movie much more! :-) In the end, it was very well done.

  3. Very Good 3.5

Matt Damon stuggled with the South African accent, but otherwise was a great in the role as the insightful rugby captain. Morgan Freeman was a shoe-in for the wise Nelson Mandela.

  4. Male Stars Very Good 3.5
  5. Female Stars Very Good 3.5
  6. Female Costars Very Good 3.5
  7. Male Costars Very Good 3.5
  8. Good 3.0

Eastwood did a good job, but nothing in particular stood out to make the film a great one. I think the movie was trying to accomplish too much.
