  1. Quality
  2. Great 4.0

A very entertaining epic adventure that pairs rogue mountain-climbing Austrians with Tibetans and the Dalai Lama. This serves to be an incredibly interesting way to expose us to Tibet and its history. As far as the adventure part – you get it all: mountain climbing, escaping prison, enmeshing in to a new culture, and living through political turmoil.

  3. Very Good 3.5

A young and relatively unpolished Brad Pitt sports the worst Austrian accent I have ever heard – but he certainly shows his talent by showing us his classic range, with a boyish humor. Kudos go to the entire rest of the cast as well.

  4. Male Stars Very Good 3.5
  5. Female Stars Very Good 3.5
  6. Female Costars Very Good 3.5
  7. Male Costars Very Good 3.5

A great blend of story, scenery, and acting – all worthy of the notoriety this film has garnered over the years.
