Really Great 4.5
Despite some of the flaws, this is a sequel that I enjoy more than the original. I know I’m a minority on that one, its just an opinion. However, if you’re not a fan of Tim Burton’s traditional dark style, this one is of the take it or leave it genre. It’s not perfect, but I always enjoy it. If you thought the first film was dark, you haven’t seen anything yet. Burton turns the darkness up all the way to 11 in this Bat-sequel. This time around, Batman is treated more as a supporting character playing second string to the villains, dreadful misfit The Penguin(Danny Devito), who is currently running for mayor of Gotham(a subplot loosely adapted from the plot of the 60’s TV show) and the ever so delicious Catwoman(Michelle Pfeifer), who loves/loathes the Bat. The action in this film is a lot more well done than the first film, but as I said, it’s more of a Tim Burton movie than a Batman movie. I can’t fully recommend it, but I still say check it out.

Perfect 5.0
More of the same from Michael Keaton, he once again gives us a great Batman. But the show is stolen from him once again as the villains take center stage. Danny DeVito is an excellent Penguin, you can’t help but feel sympathy for the poor little freak. Michelle Pfeifer is by far the best woman villain I’ve seen in a film(I’m sorry to say that I haven’t seen Basic Instinct). Christopher Walken is a maniacal Max Schrexk, the man who made Catwoman.

Really Great 4.5
The cinematography, like the first, is incredible. The city looks even darker than the first film. It’s a like Tim Burton christmas special. The score is the same as the first, gloomy yet triumphant.

Sordid 3.0
A bit more sexual tension than the first. Including that scene where Catwoman licks Batman’s face. There’s also some sexual speaking coming out of the Penguin’s mouth. Theres also tension between Bruce and Selena Kyle(Catwoman’s true identity). There’s a lot more violence in this movie, including the infamous scene when the penguin bites that guy’s nose.
